Merchandise

Here is a running list of some fairly rare items related to Bubblegum Crisis that may be of interest to collectors.

Books

RPG Books

Bubblegum Crisis: Before & After RPG BookThree roleplaying game books have been released by R. Talsorian Games: Bubblegum Crisis: MegaTokyo 2033 (1996), Bubblegum Crisis: Before & After (1997), and Bubblegum Crisis: EX (1998). All contain extremely detailed information on the BGC universe, including characters, locations, equipment, and more. They are also packed with great illustrations. MegaTokyo 2033 is the main book that covers the BGC universe, Before & After focuses on Crash! & AD Police Files, and EX introduces new mecha prototypes and equipment not seen in the OVAs.

Artworks 1983-1997

Artworks 1983-1997Another one missing from my collection! This is an artbook by Kenichi Sonoda covering his works from 1983-1997, including Bubblegum Crisis, Gall Force, Riding Bean, and Otaku no Video among others. Can't say how much of the book is devoted to Bubblegum Crisis, but with Priss as the solo character on the cover, I think it's worth adding to the list!

Scramble Wars (1992)

Super-Deformed Double FeatureThis is a real treat, especially for fans of Kenichi Sonoda's work. A parody crossover featuring super-deformed incarnations of characters from Bubblegum Crisis, AD Police, Gall Force, Riding Bean, and Genesis Survivor Gaiarth all together in one special. Released in Japan on laserdisc, catalog #TOLA-1122. Released by AnimEigo on VHS in 1993 as a double feature with Ten Little Gall Force (1988), another short parody. Tape is currently OOP.

Visualist Series: Kenichi Sonoda (1994)

1 hour documentary on Kenichi Sonoda's work, released in Japan only on laserdisc, catalog #COLC-3107. It features artwork from Sonoda-san's career, including Gall Force, Bubblegum Crisis, and Riding Bean.

Screensaver

"Let the Knight Sabers save your screen!"
Now this is an obscure one. A screen saver was released by Software Sculptures in North America sometime in the '90s on CD-ROM. It included Hurricane Live music videos as well. I do not have this, but the specs floating around the net say it is compatible with Windows 3.x, Mac OS 9 and below. No idea if it works with newer operating systems.

More to come!
