VHS
Starting in the early '90s, AnimEigo released Bubblgeum Crisis on VHS in North America in both subtitled and dubbed versions. All tapes were VHS hi-fi stereo, original 1.33:1 aspect ratio releases.
The first tapes came out in 1991 and were packaged in large clamshell cases, one episode per tape.
Then came the re-releases. These are the most common to see at video stores. You can easily differentiate the subtitled and dubbed versions by the different cover schemes. The covers of the subtitled tapes used the red/blue color scheme while dubbed tapes used green/pink.
Lastly, the three story arcs were released as "collections" across three tapes, again in both subbed and dubbed versions. These tapes used the same cover art but had AnimEigo's Sub and Dub logos on the bottom right-hand corner of the covers.
If you are looking to collect these, the old clamshell tapes are a bit rare to come by, but you can find the others real cheap today, especially used copies which I often see going for just a couple bucks. Common places to find them are at video rental chains, pawn shops, eBay/online auctions.
